1. Are all your books available elsewhere?

Answer: No, not all books are available elsewhere. Some of our books are available from specialist retailers (mail-order bookshops, hunting and firearms stores) worldwide. Bookstores in the USA such as Barnes & Noble, and Amazon carry our trade editions but NOT our limited editions. About 30% to 40% of the books on this Web site are only available from Safari Press. These titles are not sold elsewhere.

2. Does Safari Press have a walk-in store?

Answer: No, we do not have a walk-in store, and we cannot accommodate walk-in traffic. Please place your orders via this Web site or via phone or fax.

3. Do I receive e-mail confirmation of my order?

Answer: Yes, we will send you an e-mail to confirm that your order has been received. Your order will be sent within 5 working days.

4. Do you charge my credit card right away?

Answer: NO we never charge ANY credit card until the book is available to ship. If your book is on back order then we will NOT charge your card until the book is available to ship. PLEASE NOTE that our order entry software charges the actual shipping charge for each item that ships. Subsequent backordered book(s) shipped are also charged the actual shipping cost.

5. Are all books on your website available for immediate shipment?

Answer: Yes, they are UNLESS it is noted that there is a future shipping date such as "Available Fall 2017" or marked as backorder. We never charge your credit card for any back order until the book is available to ship, see above.

6. Some of the book pages don't show the actual book covers but rather a picture.

Answer: We often put up a book up on the Web site in advance of the actual designing of the cover. In the interim, we will use a picture or two from the book or a "place holder" graphic.

7. I ordered a book and then was told that it was out-of-stock.

Answer: This is rare, but possible. We make every effort to keep our Web site as up-to-date as possible, but day-to-day sales are hard to predict, so we can't guarantee that every book will be available for every order. Also, if a book is noted as "LOW STOCK" on its information page, then that means we have just a few copies left. If you want the book, order it right away. Once these titles go out of print they tend to be out of print for quite a while, and sometimes never get printed again!

8. When a book I want is out of stock, can you recommend other books that might interest me?

Answer: Yes. We are a small, family-owned corporation and our employees are familiar with our stock. We pride ourselves on personal service to our customers. If you call and we don't have the book you want, ask for suggestions! Or send us an e-mail by clicking on "Contact Us" on the Home page.

9. When is your office open?.

Answer: We are open from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., Pacific Time (California time) (GMT -8) Monday through Friday. During the month of December we are also normally open from 8:00 A.M. till 3:00 P.M. on Saturdays as well.

10. Why are certain books in your printed catalog not on the website and vice versa?

Answer: We continually update both the Web site and the mail-order catalogs. However, quantities available of some books are so low that it is not practical for us to list them on both the Web and in the printed catalog. Keep in mind that the Web site has significantly more books listed than our catalog.
